Age Friendly Community Dance at Bundoora
On Friday evening, 29 May 2026, the Age-Friendly Community Dance at Bundoora Hall was proudly supported by the Watsonia 50s Plus Club, the Bundoora Italian Pensionati Club, and Banyule City Council.
More than 150 people attended the event, enjoying a delicious dinner and an evening of Line Dancing, Rock ’n’ Roll, New Vogue, and Latin-style dancing.
Banyule City Council's Community and Wellbeing Coordinator, Leoni Farrell, welcomed guests and introduced Mayor Alison Champion, Councillor Garotti, and Councillor Pasquale. Banyule staff, led by Leza Cullen, did an outstanding job organising and serving meals to everyone in attendance. Their efforts were greatly appreciated and contributed significantly to the success of the evening.
The event also raised $2,020 for the Watsonia 50s Plus Club Inc and the Bundoora Italian Pensionati Club.
Entertainment was provided by the lively four-piece band, The Booyans, whose energetic performance kept the dance floor full until 8:30 pm, with guests enthusiastically line dancing and rocking along to the music. The evening continued with New Vogue and Latin-style dancing to music presented by Dennis Richards until 10:00 pm.

The Watsonia 50s Plus Club is delighted to be part of this year’s Banyule Seniors Festival in October. We are offering a wide range of mostly FREE or low-cost activities during Seniors Month. It is an excellent opportunity to try something new, bring a friend along, and enjoy the company of others in a welcoming setting.

Watsonia50splusclub BBQ and Commencement Dates for 2026
We had 85 members enjoy our Christmas BBQ on Thursday, 18 December 2025. Originally planned as an outdoor event in the park, a forecast of 38 degrees prompted us to move indoors.
Russell and Rob, with the members, kindly organised the round tables and chairs in the hall. A big thank you to John, Roger, and Ross for expertly grilling the sausages and onions, and to our incredible team of ladies for preparing the ice cream and delicious homemade fruit salad.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year.
