Black Rock House

Enjoy a bus trip on Tuesday 28th June to Black Rock House in Melbourne's Bayside.  Built by Victoria's first Auditor - General Charles Ebden from 1856 - 58.  This intriguing historic Victorian era home is well worth a visit, to see the castle-style fortress wall, sand and paint finish.  Moreton Bay Fig garden, antique furniture and costumes presented to reflect the story of the house.  Before the tour enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with biscuits in the Servants Quarters.                                 Black rock house

Coach Trip to Altona Homestead & Historic Williamstown

Departing at 9.00 am, travel to Logan Reserve, Altona for a morning tea stop with time to wander around the Altona Market or stroll along the beach.

At 11.00 am take a guided tour of the Altona Homestead, originally built in 1842 by early settler Albert Langhome.  It now is the home of  The Altone Historical Society, complete with a museum, and numerous relics.

Lunch is a 2 course meal at the Williamstown RSL.

Cape Schanck Lighthouse

Coach Trip to Cape Schanck Lighthouse & Museum

Cape Shanck Lighthouse

Departing Watsonia at 9.00 am, we travel to Ballam Park Frankston, for a morning tea stop. Then to Cape Schanck for a guided tour into the fully operational lighthouse, with an information video of the "oldest and highest lighthouse in the world". The historic light is one of the few still operating as it did during the mid 1800's.  For those who cannot climb the lighthouse steps into the lamp room they have photos for you to view in the museum.

After a delicious 2 course lunch at the Kings Creek Hotel, then board the coach for your journey home.  Arrive back approx. 4:00 pm

The Abbotsford Convent

 Coach Trip to The Abbotsford Convent, and Victoria Park, on Tuesday 28th April 2015

 Included is a guided tour of the Convent.

The Abbotsford Convent is an extraordinary place, and its 11 historical buildings, gardens and car park are spread over 6.8 hectares in a sweeping bend in the Yarra River and is surrounded by the Collingwood Children's Farm and Yarra Bend Park.

After lunch we will visit Victoria Park the headquarters of Collingwood Football Club for 107 years until 2005.

We will depart by train from Watsonia Station, and board as a group to Flinders St Station.  We then catch the Flinders St No 70 Tram to Waterfront City Marina Docklands and get off at stop D11, with a short walk to the Tramboat.  We then depart Victoria Harbour and cruise upstream of the Yarra River, through the City, as far as Hawthorn. (Depending on tides)

As morning tea is served we make our way to Herring Island, where you have time for a stroll around the island.  We continue our journey on board with Gourmet sandwiches being served.  As you relax you can view the beautiful houses of the rich and famous along the banks of Toorak and beyond.
