Bus Trip to Mulberry Hill House

Tuesday 16th October 2018 Mulberry Hill House Langwarrin South

Explore the heritage-listed Mulberry Hill, a magnificent American Colonial style-home in Langwarrin South.  Designed by Harold Desbrowe Annear, and built in 1926 as an extension to a pre-existing 1880's weather board cottage.  The house and it's contents, a collection of Australian art, Georgian furniture and glassware and Staffordshire ceramics, was bequeathed to the National Trust by Sir Daryl and Lady Joan Lindsay.

Docklands to Portarlington

Tuesday 21st August, Watsonia 50s Plus Club going by Ferry to Portarlington.

We will depart the Watsonia Railway Station on the 8.20 am Train to Flinders Street Station, then Tram to Victoria Harbour Docklands.  The Catamaran departs Victoria Harbour Docklands at 9.30 am and arrives at Portarlington at 11 am.  The pier is located just 3 minutes from the main street.

The environmentally friendly catamaran seats up to 400 passengers, providing a comfortable vantage point to enjoy the sights and sounds of the bay. Keep an eye out for dolphins, penguins and seals.

Enjoy the on board cafe as well.

Lunch will be at The Grand Hotel Portarlington, this was built in 1888 over 3 levels with the function room overlooking Port Phillip Bay.

We leave from the Portarlington pier at 3.30 pm, arriving at Docklands by 5 pm, then catching the train back to Watsonia.

Join us for a bus trip to Malmsbury on Tuesday 22nd May 2018 and visit the Botanical Gardens and the Railway Viaduct is a large brick & stone masonry arch bridge over the Coliban River.

Malmsbury bluestone gutters, corrugated sidings and long veranda overhangs are all evidence of a town that was another key stop - off point during the 1850's gold rush.

The Malmsbury Botanical Gardens offers stunning views of the historic viaduct that is a focal point of the town.
