Christmas BBQ 14 December 2017

Come along and enjoy our Christmas BBQ for members and friends on Thursday 14th December at 12 noon in the park beside the hall, the Christmas raffle will be drawn during the afternoon. (Booking is preferred for catering purposes)

After the BBQ the club will close for the year.

The club will re-open next year on Thursday 1st February 2018.

Bendigo by Train

Tuesday 21 November 2017

Departing by train from Watsonia Station 8:25 am, to Southern Cross Station.  We then catch the 9:14 am Train to Bendigo, using free local bus travel to and from the Bendigo Station.  Buy your own lunch, try a sightseeing tour on the talking tram(own cost).  Leave Bendigo Station at 2:56 pm arriving at Southern Cross Station by 5:05 pm, catching the Metro back to your station.

COST: Using your Myki card and your Pensioner Free Travel Voucher.

Tramboat Next Stop Williamstown

Tuesday 19 September 2017

Depart by Train from Watsonia Station at 7.55 am, to Southern Cross Station.  We then catch the No 86 Tram to Central Pier Docklands getting off at stop D2, with a short walk to the Tramboat. Departs Central Pier at 10am, we cruise downstream along the Yarra through the Port of Melbourne, past Swanston Dock under Westgate Bridge, out into Hobson's Bay where we approach the historic Sea Port of Williamstown. Delicous Fish "N" Chips will be delivered to the Tramboat for our return trip.

BUS TRIP TO THE NATIONAL WOOL MUSEUM GEELONG

Depart: Corner Elder St & Delta Road Greensborough, stopping for morning tea at the Botanical Gardens Geelong.  The Wool Museum is designed as a 90 minute self guided tour, with plenty of volunteers to help along the way. Why not browse through the Museum shops, which provide a range of Australian-made wool and woollen gifts.

Lunch: Own expense,  Dennys Kitchen at the National Wool Museum building or The Inn Geelong-great pub meals, right behind the Museum.

Bus Trip to The Eagle Skylift Arthurs Seat

Tuesday 30 May 2017          The Eagle Arthurs Seat

Depart: 9 am Cnr Elder St & Delta Rd Greensborough, stopping for morning tea on the way to The Eagle Arthurs Seat Base Station, where those who wish to take the Gondala ride will disembark, the remaining passengers will  stay on the bus to the Summit Station. Board a state of the Art Gondola  at the Arthurs Seat Eagle and "fly" over the state forest to the highest point of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula. With a breathtaking view across the bay to the city and spotting wildlife as you soar above the trees.

The remaining passengers will stay on the bus to the Summit Station and join the others for lunch at the Eagle cafe'.

Lunch: Everyone will have lunch at own expense at the Eagle Café, pies, sandwiches, salad & wraps, and a decadent range of ice creams and sweet treats.

Cost: $35:00    OR    $20:00 (If you are staying on the bus to the summit).

Bus trip to the Yarra Ranges on Tuesday 21 March 2017

Stopping for morning tea at William Rickett Sanctuary, situated in a ferny glade in the Dandenongs, William Ricketts Sanctuary is a place of beauty and tranquility, due both to the natural setting and the mystical sculptures half hidden among the ferns along the pathways.  Many travel across the world to visit this place time and time again.

Lunch: 12 noon at the Crown Hotel - Lilydale, followed by a visit to the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum. A travelling exhibition from Sydney Living Museums - What's on, a convict in the family? The works explore the connections between convict settlers, their direct descendants and the petty crimes that changed the course of their shared histories.

Returning to Greensborough approx 4pm.
